This sweet chili sauce is the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy—absolutely irresistible with Vietnamese spring rolls, chicken wings, lettuce wraps, grilled meats, and more. A deliciously addictive dipping sauce that adds bold flavor to every bite!

Makes: 1 ¼ cup

Ingredients:                                                                          

  • 1/2 cup vegetable or chicken broth or water
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 small chili pepper, seeded and minced OR 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes OR 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha sauce to taste
  • 1 small garlic clove minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon finely minced ginger (optional)
  • 1/2 tablespoon arrowroot starch dissolved in a teaspoon of cold water

Directions:

  • In a saucepan, combine the ingredients, except for the arrowroot starch slurry, bring to a boil, then add starch to thicken.
  • Let cool to serve.
