Scare up some smiles with these cute, fruity Halloween treats—no tricks, just wholesome fun!

Makes 8 Ghosts and 8 Pumpkins

Ingredients:

For the Bananas:

  • 4 oz organic dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 large bananas, halved cross-wise
  • Popsicle sticks (optional)

For the Clementines:

  • 8 clementines peeled
  • 2 celery stalks or cucumber sticks

Optional Chocolate Cream Sauce for dipping bananas:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tsp. raw cacao

In a food processor, blend the cacao and one banana until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture to a small container and set it aside.
Note: If you want the chocolate cream sweeter, add a little date syrup

Directions:

For the Bananas:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute.
If you don’t want to use a microwave, you can place the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water. Don’t have the heat too high, or it will burn the chocolate.
Allow the chocolate to cool for a couple of minutes before using it to create little faces on the bananas. Let it set for about 1 minute before eating.
  2. With a teaspoon or toothpick, place two dots of the melted chocolate near the top end for the ghost eyes and a longer one for the mouth.
  3. Place the banana on a serving platter, standing up with the cut side down as the base.
  4. Repeat the process for the remaining bananas.
  5. Use the optional chocolate sauce as a dip for the ghosts and have the popsicle sticks to stick into the cut sides of the banana halves for easy dipping.

For the Clementines

  • Cut small pieces of the celery stalk or cucumber sticks to stick in the tops of the clementines.
