Creamy, delicious, and incredibly nutritious! Avocados are loaded with heart-healthy fats, fiber, antioxidants, and nearly 20 essential vitamins and minerals. Makes 6 servings (about 3 cups)

Ingredients:                                                          

  • 3 Haas avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Bag of Siete Cassava Tortilla Chips for serving.

 

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl add the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice and toss to coat to prevent browning during the mashing process.
  2. Drain, and reserve the lime juice.
  3. Add the salt and cumin, and mash with a potato masher to a smooth and chunky texture.
  4. Then, fold in the onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice.
  6. Cover with cellophane, pressing down against the guacamole so no air touches it.
  7. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
  8. Taste and adjust salt and lime juice to taste, and then serve with chips.

Store: Add to a container, flatten firmly and evenly, then add about ½ inch of cold water on top and cover with a lid. When ready to enjoy, drain the water off the top, give it a stir, and you’re good to go!
